# Invoice chase

## Data
Receivables live in `business/invoices.md` as a table:
`| invoice | client | amount | currency | issued | due | status | last_reminder |`
If the file is missing, create it with that header and ask the user for open invoices.
Use today's date (run `date +%F`) to compute days overdue. Do the arithmetic explicitly and show it.

## "Who owes me money?"
Print open invoices sorted by days overdue, with a total per currency.

## Reminder ladder (pick by days overdue)
| Days overdue | Tone | Must include |
|---|---|---|
| -3 to 0 (due soon) | Friendly heads-up | invoice #, amount, due date, payment link/details from rates.md |
| 1-7 | Polite reminder | same + "could you confirm when this is scheduled?" |
| 8-21 | Firm | same + offer to resend invoice, ask who in accounts to contact, mention late fee terms if in rates.md |
| 22-45 | Final notice | same + specific date work pauses / late fee applies; CC suggestion for decision maker |
| 45+ | Stop drafting | Tell the user options: phone call, pause work, formal demand letter, small-claims. Do not threaten legal action in a draft. |

## Rules
- Under 90 words. Subject: "Invoice <#> - <amount> due <date>" (adjust per stage).
- Never accuse; assume it's a process problem until stage 4.
- Save draft to `clients/<client>/drafts/invoice-<#>-reminder-YYYY-MM-DD.md`; update `last_reminder` in invoices.md.
- When the user says it's paid, set status `paid` and add the date.
- Never send email.
