This week in Claude Code: 12 posts worth your time (Oct 6-13)
I keep a running list of Claude Code write-ups that show a real workflow instead of a hot take. Here are the twelve from the last week that I'd send to a friend, grouped by the problem they solve. All credit to the authors; go read the originals.
Keeping context clean
- Avoid These 4 Claude Code Context Antipatterns by @iggredible. Four common ways context gets polluted, with fixes using
/clear,/rewind, subagents and a leanCLAUDE.md. - Claude Code Context Is Like a Fridge by @iggredible. When to keep work in the main conversation and when to move it to a subagent, a second session or a headless loop.
- Show HN: I Cut my Agent Tokens By 50%. A tool that replaces Claude Code's regex code search to roughly halve token use.
Running many sessions at once
- Running 15 Claude Code Sessions at Once by @ilya_gorban. Treat 10-15 parallel sessions like a small distributed system with clear ownership.
- Which Claude Code session is waiting on you? by @bargan. A dashboard that shows which session is blocked waiting for your answer.
- The September cut took 17% of my Claude Code week. Subagents were taking 48%. by @aidiveyt. A measured usage week where subagents, not the plan change, ate most of the budget. Worth checking before you add more.
- Two agent CLIs, one repo by @thedevtimeline. Sharing context between Claude Code and Codex on the same repo without the two overwriting each other.
Bigger tasks in one go
- Rename an API Field Across 3 Repos in One Claude Code Task by @gabrielanhaia.
--add-dir, a repo map and a stale-caller grep, no monorepo needed. - With a warning, the to-automate list sat open 8.2 days. With a failing test, 6 minutes. by @rulestack. A small experiment: a failing check moves the agent far faster than a warning does.
Setup and daily habits
- Claude Code in VS Code, Set Up Properly by @noorhalvorsen. Install, permission modes, checkpoints and sensible day-one settings for the official extension.
- How I set up Claude Code: one rulebook, a 12-step relay by @dhrupo. One rulebook file plus a daily routine for using it consistently.
- Claude Code ft. Codex, Gemini and clickable hyperlinks by @newellpaul. One bash script that puts git, PR state, model, context and rate limits in a status line under the prompt.
My takeaway this week
The common thread is budget: context budget, token budget and your own attention. The posts that helped most either cut what goes into the main conversation or made it obvious which session needs you.
The full, searchable list (279 posts and growing, sorted by category) lives at solostackkits.netlify.app. It refreshes daily.
If you use Claude Code for client work, I also put together a free 3-skill sample for consultants (invoice chasing, meeting transcript to tasks, client follow-ups). The full kit is here.
